Hibs Sack Stadium PA After Cheeky Jibe

Hibs have announced the sacking of their stadium PA announcer following a cheeky dig at city rivals Hearts during Sunday's SPL clash with Dundee United.

Hearts supporters were said to have complained to the club following Beatles hit Taxman being aired during the half time interval, a song that was seen by them to be mocking their current plight whereby they face a winding up order over a sum of £450,000 due to HMRC, with another £1.7m demand being contested by the club.

The tune was only aired for a short period prior to being cut, however a Hibs spokesman confirmed the PA in question had lost his job.

"The stadium announcer`s contract has been terminated following a breach of conduct." said a Hibernian spokesman.

Pat Fenlon's men won the match 2-1 courtesy of strikes from Leigh Griffiths and Eoin Doyle to move clear of Celtic at the top of the table.

You'd have thought they'd have more important things to worry about. Hearts mentality though. They're always the victims.

What a ridiculous thing to do. He should be re-instated immediately. The (so-called) Hearts fans who allegedly complained should be hanging their heads, and doing something useful like trying to help save our club, not get wound up by the Hibs' announcer having a wee bit of fun at our expense. We're bigger than that.

Blimey, that is ott. A warning maybe but come on, have some humour!
The Fear
There are only three possible reasons why this happened. 1) The tache has no sense of humour, 2) He knows something the fans don't about Hibs' own financial situation, or 3) Hibs will now have to pay royalties to the Beatles for an "unauthorised" track being played.

SJ - I hear what you're saying. Very trivial matter to get sacked over. When you take the humour away from the fans there'll be nothing left. As for the complainants, well they really need to get a life. The song was played for about ten seconds. It certainly never registered with me what it was. I'd imagine there was more the same.
