Fenlon Ready To Wait For Griffiths

Hibs gaffer Pat Fenlon remained calm when faced with questions over on loan striker Leigh Griffiths future today.

The boyhood Hibee has been in superb form for his childhood heroes this season, the second successive year he's spent on loan at Easter Road from the Midlands club.

Having notched 27 goals so far this campaign, the player is looking to break the 30 barrier prior to the season ending becoming the first Hibs player to do so since Alan Gordon and Jimmy O'Rourke played for the club.

Whilst Griffiths is believed to have held talks with the Molineux outfit regarding his current contract which can optionally be extended by a further year, the uncertainty remains for all parties concerned.

With Wolves having sacked manager Dean Saunders at the beginning of the week following a dismal performance in this season's Championship which ultimately cost them their position in the English second tier, the prospect of adding Scotland's Young Player of the Year to a far from free scoring frontline is sure to be of interest to the incoming manager at the club.

Fenlon though retains hope however that the season finale Scottish Cup Final will not be the last Hibs supporters see of their favourite son.

Admitting the two clubs have been in dialogue, The Irishman admitted during his press conference prior to Sunday's Edinburgh Derby, 'We've done as much as we can as a club and everybody knows where we stand on it and what we want to do.

'But he's a Wolverhampton player and they will decide what happens.

'I haven't spoken to anybody there to be honest and they don't have a manager at the moment so that's a difficult scenario for them.'
