Craig Looks To Hibs Future

Craig Looks To Hibs Future

St Johnstone's Liam Craig hopes to help the Perth outfit qualify for the Europa League next season by securing a victory in their final game of the season prior to making a summer move to join up with Hibs.

Craig has spent five and a half years at the McDiarmid Park club since signing from Falkirk and believes his spell there has improved him greatly and earnt him the move to Easter Road claiming the Hibees have the potential to be a 'massive club'.

Pat Fenlon made his move to sign the midfielder on a pre-contract deal in January having been impressed with the player's work ethic and attitude, scouting the player on various occasions before offering him a deal.

The former Ipswich trainee who captained the East Anglian's to FA Youth Cup success in 2005 has agreed a 3 year deal at Easter Road and is looking forward to the move.

He told The Courier "There just comes a time when you think you should move on and I am looking forward to the challenge next year. I look at Hibs and I think it is a big club with the potential to be a massive one.

"Three or four years ago, I maybe would not have been ready for that move but the way St Johnstone have improved me, I feel I can face the challenge head on."

The player, who can play in either a central or left sided midfield role would like to end his Saints career on a high by helping steer his current club into Europe by ensuring victory over Motherwell on Sunday although should Ross County fail to defeat Inverness Caley the Perthshire side will ultimately fail in their quest for continental competition.
