Hibs Confirm First Summer Arrival
Hibs have concluded their first bit of transfer business since Alan Stubbs took charge of the club with former Scotland under 21 international David Gray joining the Hibees.
The 26 year old former Manchester United trainee has agreed a two year deal on his return to his home city after beginning his career with Hearts before the Old Trafford giants signed him for a fee of £50,000.
Since heading south, Gray has featured for numerous clubs including Crewe, Preston and Stevenage making over 150 first team appearances.
Long rumoured to have been a target for Hibs, Gray is likely to fill the right back berth which the Easter Road side have had problems with over the past few seasons having used Jordan Forster and Lewis Stevenson as makeshift full backs last season.
Gray is delighted to be returning home and told the official club website: 'I'm delighted to be at Hibs - being an Edinburgh boy I fully understand what the club is all about and the exciting challenge ahead.
'Everything about the move made sense - I've got a young family and we were keen to come back up the road to Scotland.
'This is a great opportunity to play for a big club and to be part of something memorable.
'I'm honoured to be Alan's first signing - he comes across really well - and now I can't wait to get started.
'Our first competitive game of the season is against Rangers in the Cup and then two games later we've got an Edinburgh Derby.
'So there is plenty to look forward to and I'm pleased to be a part of it.'
