Allan Set For Surprise Hibs Return?
Hibs have been linked with a surprise move for Scott Allan with numerous news outlets mooting a potential return to Easter Road as part of a complicated three way transfer deal.
The talented midfielder left Easter Road under a cloud when he handed in a transfer window in the summer of 2015 following a transfer request after boyhood heroes Rangers unsettled the former Under 21 international by publicly declaring an interest in the midfielder however the Hibs management team refused to sell to the Ibrox outfit despite pressure from the player's agent to do so.
Allan was finally allowed to leave when Premiership Champions Celtic offered an acceptable amount although his time at Parkhead has largely been a huge disappointment.
He reunited with former Hibs gaffer at Rotherham United at the start of last season but injury and a lack of form saw the loan deal cut short and Brendan Rodgers sent him to Dundee in August as he looked to play out the final year of his Hoops contract with Neil McCann's strugglers.
Any return to Easter Road is expected to hinge on 2 players departing with 'keeper Scott Bain and striker Simon Murray edging towards the exit door.
Bain only signed a short term loan deal at the beginning of the month having fallen out with Dens boss Neil McCann but due to Craig Gordon's injury in last weekend's match, Celtic are said to be keen to secure his services in order to provide back up for Dorus De Vries ahead of a Europa League clash with Zenit.
Completing the triangle of transfers, Hibs would release top scorer Murray to the Dark Blues with the striker struggling to make an impression for Neil Lennon's side in recent weeks with the emergence of young Oli Shaw.
Hibs face Motherwell in league action tonight so any potential transfer dealings may run all the way until the deadline passes at midnight tonight.
