Ambrose: Dons Match Crucial
Efe Ambrose has admitted Hibs face a tough battle when they face second top Aberdeen in Scotland's match of the day on Aberdeen.
Hibees currently sit fourth in the Premiership table, 7 points ahead of local rivals Hearts but Nigerian star Ambrose is looking to narrow the gap on both Rangers and The Dons who sit above them.
He told Nigerian newspaper The New Telegraph:"We respect them because they have been very consistent in both their home and away games. This match is crucial for us because a win will take us closer to the top teams and take us farther from the chasing pack.
"The league is getting so interesting and tough and we are going to double our efforts to get better in the table."
The cult hero will look to help Hibs end a poor run of league results against The Reds who are undefeated at Easter Road since a 2-0 victory in October 2009 through goals from Colin Nish and the late Liam Miller.
Poignantly Saturday's match will be preceded by a minute's applause for the Irishman who sadly passed away last week following a battle with cancer.
Hibees have recorded victories in cup competitions against Derek McInnes side during the same time frame with a 2-0 victory in the League Cup, best remembered for a wonder strike by the enigma that was Dominique Malonga, being the highlight.
