Scotland under 21 captain was a welcome signing at Easter Road when it was announced he'd penned a four year deal in August 2015 following his decision to leave St Mirren.

Hibs paid a development fee of around £100,00 for the midfielder who should have a bright future in the game.

McGinn won his first Scottish cap in March 2016 and was duly named man of the match in a 1-0 victory over Denmark.

2016 was certainly a momentous year for McGinn, having won his first Scotland cap he followed that up with on the field success by helping Hibs capture the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years.

He played a pivotal role in setting up Anthony Stokes for the Hibees first goal and his combatitive performance would possibly have secured the man of the match award had it not been for David Gray's heroics.
